The Three Gorges Dam is the largest dam in the world. This iconic Chinese dam generates over 100 terawatts per hour annually. Built on the largest river in China, the Yangtze River, the dam was also built on a tectonic fault line. The engineering required to make the Three Gorges Dam work properly and efficiently is truly magnificent.

The purpose of the project is to research the Three Gorges Dam to find out what went into the constructing of the dam. Areas included are the history of the dam, who paid and constructed the dam, as well as the engineering required to build the foundation, the structural mechanism, and the dam itself. The research will be complimented by computer drawn sketches of the dam and a 3D model to scale of the structure.

The purpose of this blog is to record our progress through out the term as we work on this project. Be sure to check out our biography page and blog page on the right side of the screen. The biography page gives a small introduction, and picture of all the members working on the project. The blog page is where you can find all of our updates and follow our progress.
